Walking in Caravaggio's footsteps
We had an amazing morning with Federica in the Campo Marzio area walking the streets where Carvaggio lived and worked, as well as visiting two churches with Caravaggio paintings. Federica is a wonderful guide, bringing the area to life with the history of not only Caravaggio's life but also what the area would have been where he lived there. Great experience
In September my partner and I had the good fortune to be guided on a tour of the Vatican Museum; the Sistine Chapel; and, St. Peter’s Basilica by Federica. My partner has less than 10% of her vision remaining, being legally blind, and has hearing loss, as well. These factors pose a challenge for a guide to deliver an enriching experience for such a client in such a noisy and crowded environment. But that is exactly what we both experienced. Besides Federica’s obvious charm and positive attitude; her patience and empathy; her subject expertise; and, her ability to navigate overwhelming crowds and clear a path for us, it was obvious she had put in the time before our visit to research our needs and arrange special access for us in an effort to minimize the challenges of the crowds, and to ensure my partner was able to take the time she needed to more fully appreciate a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It was Federica’s high degree of professionalism that underpinned our entire visit. Federica is very good at what she does and our recommendation cannot be overstated. Watching Federica step in and naturally assume my usual “sighted-guide” duties allowed me to relax a little bit, and listen to the history and behind-the-scenes stories, as she guided my partner, and myself, on a great half-day walkabout. Federica is Fantastica
There is no one quite like Federica dal Palù. Not only is she profoundly knowledgeable, equipped with a PhD in art history, but she is also energetic, charming, helpful and a joy to be with. Her English is perfect too. We engaged her for a full four hour trip to the Vatican. She briefed us in advance of entering the Sistine Chapel as it is a place of silence, a very innovative idea. It was paced beautifully and we leaned an immense amount. She should be your go-to guide in Rome. We recommend Federica as strongly as we can. Fredrica is a wonderful tour guide. Her love for the arts is contagious. Fredrica made sure we were comfortable during our hot day with stops in the shade and water breaks, she helped us with reservations at a hard to find restaurant. The best of the best!
Federica is truly one of the best tour guides I’ve ever done tours with. This was my 4th tour with her over the last several years. This time we did a 3 church Caravaggio tour. In the past we have done the Vatican, St Peters , the Borghese Gallery and more. I not only learned about the pieces of art but also about the history of the world at the time and about Caravaggio’s personal life. The Absolute Best Adventure through Ancient Tome
★★★★★ Federica Gave Our Family an Unforgettable Experience of Rome! Federica was absolutely incredible and truly one of the highlights of our family’s trip to Italy! We toured the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum with her, and she had an amazing ability to make Ancient Rome come alive. Her knowledge is extraordinary, but even more impressive was how she made the history relatable, interesting, and fun for our kids. What made our experience with Federica so special, though, went far beyond the traditional tour. She took the time to show us the Rome that locals know and love. She walked us through the market, brought us to a wonderful sandwich shop, and showed us how to have an authentic Italian coffee and gelato experience. She even recommended that we visit the Jewish Ghetto for lunch, which became another memorable part of our day. Federica connected with our family in such a genuine and personal way. She quickly understood our personalities and interests and tailored the experience so that everyone—from the adults to the kids—felt engaged. We laughed, learned, ate, explored, and experienced Rome in a way we never could have done on our own. By the end of our time together, Federica didn’t feel like a tour guide; she felt like a friend showing our family the city she loves. Those personal experiences and little local discoveries are some of the memories we will treasure most from our trip. If you are going to Rome, book Federica! The Best Tour Ever!
Federica was amazing! She gave us so much information on the history of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel and she went above and beyond to give us a thorough tour, despite my husband being on a mobility scooter. An unparalleled tour guide in Rome!
Federica was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. She guided our family through both the Vatican and the Forum and Colosseum, and her knowledge was simply extraordinary. Her explanations of the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museums, and the history behind what we were seeing brought everything to life in a way that no guidebook ever could. We learned so many fascinating details and left with a much deeper appreciation for Rome's history, art, and culture. On an especially hot day at the Forum and Colosseum, Federica took great care of us, pacing the tour thoughtfully and even recommending a wonderful place for lunch before our next activity. We felt genuinely looked after from start to finish. Federica made an immediate impression on us, a family of five, with boys ages 14, 10, and 9. Federica could not have been more warm, charming, and funny. She made history engaging and memorable for them, and she left a lasting impression on our entire family. Even days later, we are still talking about her like an old family friend. We miss her!
