The art of the Renaissance
Raphael’s Rooms are among the most important masterpieces of the Vatican Museums. Created by Raphael and his workshop, the rooms are decorated with beautiful frescoes representing important figures and stories from the history of art, philosophy and Christianity.
The most famous fresco is The School of Athens, where great philosophers of the ancient world are represented together.
SISTINE CHAPEL
Michelangelo’s masterpiece
The Sistine Chapel is a unique masterpiece in the world, created by Michelangelo and considered one of the greatest works of art ever made. Its magnificent ceiling is famous for the Creation of Adam and other extraordinary scenes from the Creation.
On the altar wall, Michelangelo painted the monumental Last Judgment, creating one of the most unforgettable works of Renaissance art.
St. PETER’S BASILICA
