A Baroque jewelThe Colonna Palace
A Baroque Masterpiece Still Alive with History
Step into one of Rome’s most extraordinary private palaces and discover a world of Baroque splendor, priceless art, and centuries of aristocratic history.
Located in the heart of Rome, Palazzo Colonna has been the home of the powerful Colonna family for more than 900 years. Still privately owned by the family today, the palace offers a rare glimpse into the world of Roman aristocracy and one of the city’s most magnificent artistic treasures.
At the heart of the palace is the spectacular Colonna Gallery, an extraordinary masterpiece of Roman Baroque architecture. Its grand halls, gilded decorations, marble floors, mirrors, frescoes, and magnificent sculptures create an unforgettable setting for an exceptional collection of paintings and works of art dating from the 14th to the 18th centuries.
The palace also preserves the elegant Apartment of Princess Isabelle, created in the 15th century and filled with treasures accumulated over generations. Here, you can admire landscapes by Vanvitelli, works by Flemish masters, frescoes attributed to Pinturicchio, and countless objects that tell the story of the Colonna family and its extraordinary place in Roman history.
Walking through the palace means stepping into a living history book. For over 30 generations, the Colonna family has lived in, cared for, and preserved this remarkable residence, witnessing some of the most important events in the history of Rome.
Palazzo Colonna is more than a museum—it is a living palace, where art, architecture, and nine centuries of Roman history come together in one extraordinary experience.
